Baby Soft Skin - Foot Care Essentials

How to have baby soft skin with a simple and effective foot care routine even through winter months.

Your feet may not be highly visible during the winter months as you don your winter boots, slippers and woolly bed socks, but it doesn’t mean you should neglect them until summer time.

Come spring and summer, you will want to be putting your best feet forward as you start getting your sandals and ‘flip flops’ out of your wardrobe.

Baby Soft Skin - Foot Care Essentials

  1. Remove Dry Skin
  2. This handy invention is something I actually received as a Christmas gift this year, was someone was telling me something!

Anyway, I’ve already used it and I must say it’s one of those beauty secret gadgets that actually does work.

Although I didn’t test it on a balloon, hardly any point as it has to work on your feet not on balloons!

    foot care

It’s a simple gadget, easy to put together.  It reminded me of a mini cheese grater, not recommended for mixed use by the way, foot and food - not a great (grate) combination!

It certainly does exactly what it says it will do. Absolutely painless and so much more effective than the usual abrasive foot files, achieving baby soft skin in a fraction of the time.

The only negative point, not that it’s something that should stop you using it, is that the ‘dusty’ filings are not fully retained in the container.

So although it is recommended for using “anywhere”, eg: whilst sitting on your sofa watching telly, I’d make sure you have a towel under you to catch any dusty filings, just in case.

  3. Foot Bath
  4. Once you have removed dry skin on both feet, soak your feet in a warm bath, or bowl filled with warm water, add a couple of drops of your favorite essential oils for extra luxury.

  5. Dry
  6. Towel dry your feet thoroughly, don’t forget in between your toes!

  7. Moisturize

For longer lasting effects, moisturize both feet, paying particular attention to your heels, by applying a good quality foot balm. Continue to apply foot balm at least three times per week.

For baby soft skin throughout winter these foot care essentials will help you put both feet forward beautifully when spring and summer arrive.

Try a Organic Lavender Water infused foot bath to add the light and naturally luscious scent of Lavender.

The Benefits Of Organic Products for Body Care

organic herbs
Organic products, such as organic herbs and teas, organic essential oils and organic bath products can provide healthy options for your herbal needs.

Organic products such as organic herbs make wonderful long-term additions to your daily diet.  Flavorful herbs, such as oregano, thyme, mint, basil, bay leaf, as well as spices such as cinnamon, cumin seed, dried ginger and garlic, as well as herb and spice blends like curry powder taste freshest when made with organic herbs and spices.

There are also many organic teas that can offer you a caffeine-free and low-caffeine alternative to coffee and soda pop.  Organic tea comes in a plethora of flavors.  Choose long-time favorites, including peppermint, chamomile, and Earl Grey, or try something exotic like bancha or assam teas.  Teas can be purchased in loose form or in bags.  Bags are quicker because they are pre-measured and contained, whereas you can mix your own special tea blend of your favorite loose teas and place a serving in a metal tea ball, through which the herbs’ flavors are distributed throughout the hot water.  They are all easy to drink, and hit the spot on those cold winter mornings or anytime you need a tasty pick-me-up.

Other organic products find their way into our olfactory system.  Aromatherapy uses the scent released from organic essential oils to help heal the mind and body.  Massage oils made from essential oils of herbs smell wonderful and will add another layer of delight to your next massage session.  Organic bath products are what you need at the end of a long, stressful day at work or with the kids.  You can add herbal blends together into a sachet, which is then placed in the bath water.  Your bathing blend could include herbs such as lavender, orange peel, rosehips, peppermint, and even lemon grass for your enjoyment.  Slip into a world of relaxing fragrance, and let the cares of the day melt away.

No matter what your herbal need is, food, drink aromatherapy and body care organic products made with organic herbs are your safest bet for quality, purity and scent pleasure.  Why take a chance on being exposed to harmful chemicals when you don’t need to?  Instead, organic products provide a healthy alternative.

Sodium Lauryl Sulphate Bodycare Ingredients

sls free?

SLS Free?

Sodium Lauryl Sulphate (SLS) is a strong detergent used as an industrial degreaser and foaming agent.

Do you use SLS free bodycare?

What Are The Facts About SLS?

SLS and this ‘family’ of chemicals has been used in the beauty industry for decades and you don’t have to go far to read up and research the chemical compounds and related sodium lauryl sulphate bodycare ingredients.

SLS is recorded as being an irritant!

Despite this fact, many bodycare products, shampoos, soaps and other bodycare recipes and formulas contain SLS.

There is only one way to ensure that the bodycare products you buy are sls free and that is to check out the side effects of sodium lauryl sulphate, note the SLS chemical family names and then very carefully read the labels on your bodycare products to check whether these chemicals are included in the list of ingredients.

Body Care Organic - Natural Definitions

natural organic body care foods

Body Care Organic has been looking again at the definitions of both “organic” and “natural” in terms of the consumers perceptions, and the bodycare and food industries presentation, of these definitions.

You’ll recall the “you are what you eat” mantra and the “five a day” fresh vegetable recommendation….

… and it probably won’t surprise you to note that the increase in natural and organic food production, and the larger companies marketing of organic produce, has had a major impact on your (the consumer) perception of healthy eating.

Marketing by large scale suppliers of organic and natural food sources has been prolific in all forms of media. In order to compete with these giants, local farmers markets and suppliers have extended their product range to take advantage of consumer interest in, and the move towards buying, natural and organic foods.

As a consumer these marketing efforts have raised individual awareness of the benefits of healthy eating and in particular the unhealthy pesticides and other chemicals often associated with standard food crops.

Consumers, perhaps you too, are becoming more concerned about not only what you put into your body, but what you are putting onto your body!

Consumers, you and many others like you, have naturally extended your desire for living a healthy lifestyle on the outside!

The marketing powers that be recognize this desire and have extended their own efforts to include the body care organic and natural skincare product choices presented to you.

However, finding your way through the organic natural marketing jargon to get to the defining facts is like wading through mud in concrete wellingtons!

SPINS helps clarify these definitions :

“Consumers are developing greater knowledge about what is absorbed into the body through the skin and therefore looking to avoid potentially harmful ingredients, such as parabens and petrochemicals, while at the same time seeking safer, non-chemical-based products that offer efficacy and purity.”

Industry Definition

Natural Products

SPINS, through partnerships, defines “All Natural” as:

  • No artificial preservatives
  • No artificial colors
  • Minimally processed
  • No chemical additives
  • No artificial flavors
  • No artificial sweeteners
  • No hydrogenated oils
  • Non-irradiated

Organic Products

The USDA’s National Organic Program certifies products as organic based on farming, handling, manufacturing, distribution and labeling practices:

  • No antibiotics or growth hormones
  • No synthetic pesticides or fertilizers
  • No bio-engineered foods or ionizing radiation
  • No GMOs

SPINS defines the Natural Products Industry as the intersection of Natural, Organic, and Specialty food and beverage, Sustainable products, and Vitamins and Supplements. These industry-standard definitions drive SPINS segmentation and analysis across retail channels, product sets, and consumers.

BodyCareOrganic Sea Salt Scrub Recipe

bodycareorganic sea salt flats

BodyCareOrganic Sea Salt Scrub is one of those natural organic body care recipes that take advantage of the  exfoliating, detoxing and cleansing properties of salt.

If you are thinking about salt as a food additive or flavoring, rather than a body salt scrub, you may consider natural organic sea salt to be less palatable than the refined salt you find on the table.

However, at bodycare organic, we think you will be pleasantly surprised by the increasing popularity of the use natural organic sea salt in the kitchen!

Unrefined sea salts are also commonly used as ingredients in bath products. One example is a bath salt scrub which uses sea salts as a main ingredient, combined with aromatherapy base oils and essential oils to give you the maximum benefit of the therapeutic effects.

for our BodyCareOrganic Sea Salt Scrub Recipe you will need:

A sufficient quantity of sea salt for one body scrub application, or an airtight container to store a larger blend.

Your favorite aromatherapy base oil, for example, jojoba oil - you will need enough to soak into the quantity of sea salt that you have.

Your favorite essential oils, a few drops of one essential oil or a few drops of your blended essential oils.

  • Place your sea salt in a bowl
  • Blend your essential oil fragrances into your aromatherapy base oil
  • Pour sufficient oil onto the salt so that it is absorbed, not too much that there is excess oil
  • Stir thoroughly to ensure all your oil has been absorbed into the salt
  • Use by applying your salt body scrub over your skin in smooth motions
  • Shower off, or bathe

Your skin will feel fresher and cleaner from the exfoliating action of the salt and smoother from the essential oils that will have absorbed into your skin.
